Southwest Microwave’s European
subsidiary recently opened a
state-of-the-art
exterior perimeter testing and
demonstration site.
The
facility showcases the company’s
broad array of superior outdoor
perimeter
intrusion detection products.
 Southwest
Microwave’s test field and
monitoring station acts
as a simulation
site, where the entire range of cutting-edge
perimeter security products are installed in the field
and these are integrated with 24 hour CCTV monitoring
and a comprehensive weather monitoring station. Products
installed at the site include the INTREPID MicroPoint
fence-tied
cable system, bi-static and transceiver-type microwave
sensors, passive infrared sensors, all of which are permanently
installed and monitored 24 hours a day x 7 days
per week.
 The
testing and demonstration facility will enhance
Southwest Microwave’s perimeter solution
seminars and training programs by allowing the
company to provide exterior perimeter security
demonstrations in real-world conditions.
To replicate
a broad range of applications, the test field
includes four fence types: Chain Link,
Steel Palisades and two types
of Weldmesh fences,
with various fence toppings, all installed
to
meet British Standards BS1722 Pts 10 & 12
Southwest Microwave welcomes existing and potential end
users, security managers, consultants, government security
officers and facility managers to visit the site located
in the central United Kingdom, 40 minutes from Birmingham
International airport and 10 minutes drive from the M5
motorway. Guests can expect to see the various intrusion
detection products and systems operating in concert with
CCTV under typical European weather conditions. Southwest
Microwave has a network of trained integrators, distributors
and installers throughout Europe who can provide comprehensive,
turnkey security programs for government, utility, industrial,
military and commercial sites.
This revolutionary facility complements other testing
sites in the United States and Canada, and solidifies
Southwest
Microwave’s global commitment to outdoor perimeter
security. In addition, these facilities assist the company
with their continuous testing and product proving programmes
in a variety of weather environments worldwide.
