New Map Monitor Software Helps You Get The Whole Picture

Anyone who has ever gotten
lost after getting directions
from someone knows that there
is nothing better than having a
good map. Having a clear
graphical representation of an area helps a lot when trying to find a specific address or location. Southwest Microwave knows this is also true when trying to locate an intruder, which is why they have introduced the new INTREPID™ Map Monitor alarm reporting and map display software.

Working in concert with the INTREPID MicroPoint fence-tied perimeter security cable system, the new Map Monitor software provides a graphical user interface that displays the exact
location of intrusion alarms within 10 feet (3 meters). With this new software, you can actually see where an intrusion has taken place on the map. It even provides the operator with a text message giving them the exact distance in feet or meters of the intrusion from a reference point.

Versatility Is Key

This windows-based security monitoring and control software can use an imported image such as an aerial photograph, or the user can create a detailed site drawing using the Site Manager Drawing Tool. The Map Monitor software is easy to configure and it is extremely versatile. It is available as either a Basic Map Monitor or Advanced Map Monitor. The Basic Map Monitor provides pinpoint alarm locations and basic alarm reports for single sites while the Advanced Map Monitor also includes Alarm Tagging, User Password Log-on and Multiple Site Maps. Both Map Monitor configurations are available in five languages: English, Spanish, German, French and Portuguese.

From a stand-alone system at one site to multiple-workstation, multiple-site applications, the flexible Map Monitor software can receive alarm reports at one central display for immediate response. This gives operators a complete picture of what’s happening at all times. The software can even run from your
Local Area Network or Wide Area Network.

Report Card Gets High Marks
The alarm reporting functions of this new software are
astonishing. All alarm reports are time and date coded and
include zone and location details. The Advanced Map Monitor software includes a more sophisticated Alarm Tagging capability where an operator is required to enter the cause of an alarm before it is reset. The Advanced Map Monitor also includes a password-protected log-on with preset levels of authorization
for reporting. With both the Basic and Advanced versions, the alarm reporting history is saved as a log file for easy viewing
and printing.

Smooth Operation
The Map Monitor software uses
either a three-button mouse or custom keypad for all operator functions. An optional touch
screen is available if required.
Simply contact Southwest Microwave for more information. The Advanced Map Monitor allows individual
operator log-on with various levels
of authorization for reports, access/secure zone status and control functions, which are preset during installation and can only be changed by the administrator.
All in all, the Map Monitor software provides numerous benefits to security professionals. Just like a street map, this software gives you an overall picture of where you’re headed—or where you need to be headed. With the Map Monitor software, seeing is believing.
